This group first met in the fall of 2000 at an informal gathering organized by local realtor Marti Frumhoff. The word was put out to gather at MoKaBe’s Coffee House on Arsenal in the Tower Grove South neighborhood. Twenty-three folks attended eager to listen and learn and out of that first meeting grew a strong bond and comaraderie and, eventually, an email listserv.

Since that monumental day a few years back, we are [thankfully] still going and growing strong. We meet each month on the third Saturday and discuss a pertinent subject or tour rehab projects in neighborhoods throughout the city. We visit commercial, residential and investment projects and often have guest speakers and community leaders, many with vast and extremely useful experience to share.

CONTRACTORS LIST

Members of the Saint Louis Rehabbers Club have compiled a list of contractors and resources.

The database is searchable by category or name.
Users can also review and rate contractors they have hired.

In the last few years, we have created a schedule of classes for rehabbers. We’ve also compiled a resource list of contractors. Both of these efforts seek to assist our members in their search to become more knowledgeable about rehabbing and improving their lives and our beautiful city.

With the gracious and sharing spirit of support in this group, many of us have been brave enough to start our own projects. As the years have passed, we find that there are still many quality rehab opportunities available all over the city of Saint Louis and the Saint Louis Rehabbers Club is a wonderful community within which to grow and learn about how to take one on.

We hope you will use this website, one helpful resource in an ever-growing and evolving community. For an in-depth history of our group, please visit the About Us page.

monthly Rehabbers Club MeetingS
Join us at our monthly meeting for rehab commaraderie, a lecture, a workshop, or perhaps a walking tour of buildings under renovation in one of St. Louis' historic neighborhoods. Meetings are held the third Saturday of the month from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and notices are posted to listserv.

GET INVOLVED
There are all kinds of opportunities to get involved and make a difference in your neighborhood and your city. Some ideas? Here are just a few to start...

  • contact your NSO [neighborhood stabilzation officer] and local police, establish relationships with these people and find out how you can be a partner for change;
  • get to know your alderperson;
  • check out your local neighborhood association and start attending meetings, volunteer for committees, meet your neighbors;
  • come to Rehabbers Club meetings;
  • join the listserv, ask questions and offer suggestions and answers;
  • be a catalyst for change in your area by talking to contractors and developers, get them interested in your neighborhood and pitch them a development idea;
  • pick up trash regularly, get neighborhood youth involved;
  • become a block captain and make an effort to get to know your neighbors;
